A few days after meeting with the district board of education, Bridgman Public Schools Band Director Cliff Reppart has been reinstated to his position.

Reppart had been on paid administrative leave since December over a potential policy violation.

In recent days, a Facebook group called We Trust Reppart attracted more than 1,000 members and called for his reinstatement. The Bridgman Public Schools Board of Education heard from supporters of Reppart Monday and then met with him Tuesday.

Bridgman Superintendent Shane Peters announced Thursday Reppart will be back in the classroom April 9.

We Trust Reppart’s Angelique Petersen tells us everyone’s excited.

We’re just so pleased with the school that they made the right decision,” Petersen said. “They listened to our concerns. They took the time that they needed to take and finally listened to Cliff Reppart’s story where he could say his own side and he has his own voice in this. Once he was able to do that, I think then they were able to really have a full grasp on things.”

Peters writes in a message to parents that when the district comes back from spring break, it will hire an independent human resources firm to do an audit of the BPS human resources procedures.

On Facebook, Reppart thanked supporters, saying he is “grateful to Shane Peters and the Board of Education!”
