We’re all enjoying the afternoon sunshine, and it’ll be hanging around more and more each day.

National Weather Service meteorologist Trent Frey says the days are getting longer in Michigan.

“Each day we are currently seeing about two and a half minutes of daylight added each day, and by the end of the month, we’ll be getting closer to three minutes of daylight each day,” Frey said.

In Benton Harbor, the sun rises at 7:51 a.m. right now, while it sets at 6:08 p.m.

Frey says by the end of the month, the sunrise will be about a half hour earlier than it is now, and the sunset will be around a half hour later.

If you’re already thinking spring, it’s not so far off. The first day of spring will be March 19.
