1969 Dave Thomas opened his first Wendy’s restaurant in Ohio, known for its square beef patties and Frosty milkshakes. Thomas named the restaurant after his fourth child “Wendy”. Her young freckle-faced likeness is on the Wendy’s logo.
Music History:
1969 The Karen and Richard Carpenter released their debut album on A&M Records. It was a commercial failure, producing only one hit single, a ballad version of The Beatles song ‘Ticket to Ride’.
