New and more detailed maps of Michigan’s legislative districts have been released by the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission. The commission’s Rebecca Szetela said during meeting with reporters this past week these maps can be printed and searched online. The commission released them after being asked for more specifics.
“By having these different items, we have the original maps that we had online, which are on the Michigan Redistricting site…and then we have the statewide map if someone wanted to look at it statewide, or you can print out an actual district map and look at your individual district and see the different lines and boundary lines with cities and counties represented on there and local geographic features as well,” Sztelsa said.
Szetela said the PDF maps supplement the interactive, online district maps previously made available by the MICRC. The new maps were released just as many Michiganders start receiving their new voter ID cards. You can see the maps at the website of the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission. The commission announced the new districts last year.
