1871, Andrew S. Hallidie received a patent for his Cable Car system. Three years later, his invention changed the face of San Francisco.

1929, Popeye the Sailor Man, first appeared in a comic strip called “Thimble Theatre”. He was created by E.C. Segar.

1953, the Chevy Corvette was introduced at a car show at New York’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. The cost of the first production model, Vettes, was $3,490. There were only 300 produced. Today that car would cost upwards of 300,000!

Music History:

1976 – Barry Manilow had his second US No.1 single with ‘I Write the Songs’. A song that was ‘actually’ written by The Beach Boys Bruce Johnson.
