1875 First football game with uniforms. Yale, wearing dark pants, blue shirts, and yellows hats beat Harvard who wore crimson shirts, pants, and stockings.

1946 Dry-ice pellets were dropped from a plane at 14,000 feet over Massachusetts creating snow. The snow fell about 3,000 feet before evaporating.

1956 Segregation on interstate buses was ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme court. A result of the boycott that started when African American Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give her seat to a white person.
