In honor of World Polio Day, the Rotary Clubs of Benton Harbor Sunrise, Lakeshore, and St. Joseph-Benton Harbor are joining forces in a give back night event.
Today the clubs will gather at Silver Beach Pizza to help raise funds to help combat polio and eradicate polio across the globe.
St. Joseph-Benton Harbor rotary club member Jenny Zerrenner says this annual event is important as they continue to world to end the paralyzing virus.
“It only takes one plane ride. For me, the efforts to eradicate this completely is so important, especially for people who have children and I’d love for my son to grow up in a world where there’s no polio at all.”
Silver Beach Pizza will donate 20% of your check to the rotary clubs, but you must have a flyer present. Funds raised will go towards the rotary clubs PolioPlus program.
The event begins at 4 p.m.
