A groundbreaking for a new broadband internet project in Bridgman will be held on Monday.

The Greater Bridgman Area Chamber and Growth Alliance says Surf Internet is planning to roll out a new high-speed internet option to residents, and the move will be celebrated at Bridgman City Hall at 11 a.m.

The CGA says Surf’s expansion into the Greater Bridgman area is “set to transform the digital landscape of the community connecting to their existing high-speed fiber-optic network, offering reliable and symmetrical speeds of 1 gig for all.”

The groundbreaking celebration will be hosted by the Greater Bridgman Chamber and Growth Alliance in collaboration with the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber, and the City of Bridgman. CGA Director Nancy Kiernan says, “This is a much needed and welcome step in the next chapter of the Greater Bridgman Area’s growth.”
