Temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s around Southwest Michigan heading into Wednesday, and everyone’s advised to limit time outdoors.

However, two Berrien County fire departments are doing their part to help people cool off.

The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety has been turning on its hoses at Dwight P. Mitchell City Center Park from 3 to 4 p.m. each day this week to great fanfare. Children has been coming out in crowds to get relief, and the department says it will also offer the service on Wednesday.

Also, the Baroda Fire Department will turn its hoses on for the relief of residents at Hess Park from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday. It’s invited all kids and parents to come out and enjoy some cool water.
