Indiana Michigan Power has launched a new Spanish language website. I&M says nearly 40 million people in the U.S. speak Spanish at home, and the company provides power to tens of thousands of Hispanic customers. It receives an average of 1,800 calls per month from customers who prefer to speak Spanish. Therefore, it believes offering its website in Spanish will enable it to better serve customers. I&M Vice President of External Affairs Katie Davis says the company is excited to make things easier for those who use its services. The Spanish site means customers will be able to read in Spanish electrical safety and energy efficiency tips, outage communications, billing assistance information, program offerings, and information about community involvement. Customers can change the language preference on IndianaMichiganPower.com by clicking the word Espanol on the top right corner.
